How Do YOU Eat Your Cupcakes?
Do you have a particular plan of attack when you eat cupcakes to avoid getting icing and crumbs all over the place? Did you know there are several different methods for eating cupcakes to avoid a mess, especially when you’re on the move? Here are some of our favorites!
Icing First – The cake-to-icing ratio is the best part about cupcakes for most people. Lots of icing could never be a bad thing, right?! The “icing first” method involves licking off all of the frosting first and then eating the remaining cake like a muffin. This may not be the best choice, however, because you could end up with a face full of frosting.
Diagonal Method – If you have no choice but to eat your cupcake with your hands while on the go, this may be the next best way to enjoy some of the wonderful cake-to-icing ratio. In a nutshell, you’re going to tilt your head to the side and bite in at a diagonal angle. You should get a decent amount of frosting in every bite without getting it all over your nose.
Cupcake Sandwich – To really maximize the cake-to-icing ratio of cupcakes, the sandwich method is a pretty clever method. Remove the cupcake paper, separate the bottom of the cake portion of the cupcake with your fingertips, place the bottom part on top of the icing, and enjoy it like a sandwich. The sandwich method is neat and practical!
Split It Down the Middle – This may be the best method if you’re sharing a cupcake with your Valentine’s date. Because it involves forks, it’s also neater. Split it in half from top to bottom, preserving part of each section (icing and cake). While it may cause parts of the cupcake to crumble, you’ll be able to maintain some dignity and control with this approach!
The most important part of eating cupcakes is to simply enjoy yourself. This may involve throwing caution to the wind now and then (resulting in a comical picture on Facebook or Instagram), but at least you’ll have fun.
All Sweet Street Desserts are baked fresh, then frozen and shipped in insulated containers to protect them during shipping. Dry ice maintains their freshness.
