CAMPAIGN TIPS
Sweet Street Fundraising Tips for Success

Sweet Street Desserts is here to provide you with the best in dessert products—items that you will be proud to offer your supporters. Beyond that, we are also here to support your selling efforts. We believe these basic, time-tested tips will help you and your group sell your fundraiser more effectively. Cover each point with your group before you send them out to sell.
Before the sale:
• Set a goal! Clear objectives for the organization as a whole and each seller are important to kick-off your campaign.

• Set a starting date and closing date for your fundraiser. Two to four weeks is an ideal time frame.

• Communicate the reason and goals for your fundraiser to each seller and those you ask to make a purchase. For your convenience we have provided cover letter templates for your use and easy personalization.

Start the sale
• Many successful organizations generate excitement for the fundraiser by hosting a campaign kick-off meeting or assembly. It is important to engage all sellers, familiarize them with the product and announce all important dates and information. Everyone will leave the kick-off event educated and motivated!

During the sale:
• Leverage all of the tools on our website. We have created a variety of helpful documents and templates to help your organization become successful.

1. Promotion tips guide sheet and FAQ area — find answers to your basic questions and learn from those that have been successful in the past

2. Email templates — a great start for promoting to friends and family

3. Press release templates — customizable template that can be updated and sent to your local media (television, newspapers, etc.)

• Volunteers are invaluable to help you run and administer your program – most critically on the day the products are delivered.

• We do not endorse door-to-door selling. A list of family and friends who may be interested in supporting your fundraising efforts is the best place to start.

• Keep everyone engaged. Remind your participants of goals, update on status and continue to communicate the delivery date and pick up time.
